How important is spelling and grammar?

Before the days of computers and phones etc, it was vital that you knew how to spell certain words. If you were writing a CV, for example, then you needed to ensure that you’re spelling and grammar was correct otherwise it may of looked bad on your application. With almost all phones and computers having a spell checker installed, many children and young adults do not put the effort in to learning spelling and grammar as they know the computer will correct it for them.

Although this can save time, it is not ideal to reply on this method one hundred percent, as the spell checker may not always pick up places where you have used the wrong word or may auto correct a word that you actually wanted to type (such as a name).

When I write a document I use spell check but try and look at where I went wrong and remember it for next time, I also always proof read what I have written.
